C. F. Johnston, who has conducted one of Ironton’s leading stores during the last 15 years, is to retire from the local field and an announcement of the closing-out sale of the C. F. Johnston Company appears in today’s issue.
Mr. Johnston, who is owner of the store, has for the last year been employed in Huntington as manager of the Midland chain of twelve stores, operating in Eastern Kentucky and West Virginia. It is for the reason he is unable to devote his attention to this Ironton store that he has decided to discontinue it.
Mr. Johnston announced today that this sale is a complete disposal of all the store’s quality merchandise and all will be sold at wholesale cost and less.
The store will be closed all day Tuesday so that stock may be marked down and arranged for patrons. The sale will open Wednesday morning at 8:30 o’clock.
